Friday Night Funkin’ is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron “Ninjamuffin99” Taylor, David “PhantomArcade” Brown, Isaac “Kawai Sprite” Garcia, and evilsk8r.

So, some things I want to comment on: 1: "Life Cycle" is based off of a game called "house of the dead 2", whose villain I only recognize because I'm a fan of a certain game-glitching, Canadian, "Runaway guys" member who made a scene from that game a 5 gifted-sub alert. 2: (This one I think you know already, But I'll put it for the others in the comments) The song "Cabinet Funk" is based off of a Lemon demon song called "Cabinet man" which tells the story of a man/arcade-cab hybrid. There are TONS of animatics on YT and I suggest you listen to the original song if you haven't already. Amazing choice of mods.

Ima explain the few creepypastas I know.Evil Otto: This is not really a creepypasta, but rather a true event. 3 people have died right after getting a high score on an arcade game called “Bezerk”. in this game, you play as a human in an endless maze filled with robots. Chasing you, is Evil Otto, who can jump over walls. If he catches you, you will immediately lose. Getting hit by a laser shot by a robot will also result in losing.Polybius: An urban legend about an arcade machine that is able to mind control the player. it’s said to make anyone who plays it want to join the military.Sinistar: An arcade game where you play as a spaceship. You have to mine asteroids to create “Sinibombs”. These bombs are able to defeat sinistar. There are 2 types of enemy ships, called worker ships and warrior ships. Worker ships will charge at you, and will also attempt to mine asteroids to build sinistar himself. Warrior ships will follow the player ship while firing lasers. Upon being fully built, sinistar will exclaim “I AM SINISTAR, BEWARE I LIVE. RUN, RUN, RUN, BEWARE, COWARD. RUN, COWARD.” Before screaming and saying 2 more words: “I HUNGER.” He is about 10X the player ship’s size, so it’s almost impossible to dodge him. However, you can defeat him using the sinibombs I talked about earlier.Glitched PacMan: If you reach a high enough level, the game will begin to glitch out, making the level extremely difficult to complete. Half of the level is normal, and the other half is just glitchy as hell. Upon beating this hellhole of a level, it just sends you back to level 1.Pacman.exe: a horror game based off of pacman. Just like the original game, you play as pacman. However, in the first level, there is only 1 ghost called “Blindy.” He looks the same as Inky, but his face is more ghastly. He blindly wanders the maze, trying to catch the player. In level 2, Blindy is gone, but a new ghost is there. Screamy was the same color as blinky, but his face looked like a skull. He will chase after the player constantly (basically normal blinky), but will charge at the player if they get too close. In level 3, Slendy is introduced. He looks the same as Clyde, but his eyes and mouth are all stitched shut. He will teleport in front of you randomly. In level 4, all of the previous ghosts along with a new ghost named “Old One.” Old One phases through the walls, floating towards you. There are no new characters introduced in level 5. In level 6, all the ghosts are gone. If you collect a power pellet, you will see this, but this triggers “Devil” to spawn. Devil is a grey version of pacman. He will follow all of your previous moves, and slowly speed up, eventually catching you. Upon being caught by devil, you will be sent into a first-person, 3D version of the maze. You will eventually be caught by normal pacman, implying you were playing as a ghost.Turbo: literally just a character from wreck it ralph

  20. The insert soul song is based on a creepypasta where the writer says he goes and finds a un used arcade. Cabinet of pacman in an amusement park. And the caved in song is like a lord x or mx thing idk sinistar is from an old arcade game named sinistar where what bf was you try to stop sinistar from fully being built and the line he says is from the game

  23. Brotherly Rivalry is basically the leaked Darnell and Pico tracks as an FNF mod lol (with Mario and Luigi sprites!!! I love these sprites so much)
    ARCADE ARCHIVES (formerly known as "Vs Evil Otto") is a great one. It got interesting characters, music, visuals, and EVEN SCOTT THE WOZ AND NEIL CICIEREGA (from Lemon Demon, lmao) are in it!!!!

  24. List of references I know, as well as explanations:

    Otto- The Curse of Evil Otto, apparently a cabinet of the arcade game Berzerk was cursed, and indirectly killed whoever played. Not a creepypasta, this was an actual theory, since one or two people did die in relation to this game apparently.

    Polybius- An arcade game that does not exist, and is allegedly connected with MK Ultra. (?)

    Sinistar- Spooky arcade game called Sinistar. No creepypasta or anything, just a scary arcade game.

    High Score- Based off the glitchy "Final level" of Pacman.

    Insert Soul- Based off a creepypasta game called PACMAN. Billy Styler did a cool video on it.

    Grave Digger- Probably a Dig Dug creepypasta I don't know about. MAY be an FNF mod original, but I doubt that greatly.

    Caved In- Again, either a Dig Dug creepypasta I don't know about or an FNF mod original.

    One and Only- Based on the SNES Vs. Sega Genesis console wars, although Mario uses his Jumpman design, as well as the 1-1 BG, despite the original commercial using SMW footage.

    Turbotastic- Wreck It Ralph. It's Wreck It Ralph. You should know what Wreck It Ralph is.

    Infringement- I don't know, probably a Pac Man ripoff. Seems familiar, but I couldn't tell you for the life of me what it's called.

    Life Cycle- No fucking idea.

    Street Smarts- SCOTT THE FUCKING WOZ LET'S GO.

    Cabinet Funk- Neil Cicirega's song Cabinet Man.
